Udayana University Educational Philosophy

The program's educational philosophy was developed to conform the Unud’s education philosophy reflected on its motto. Udayana University’s motto is taki takining sewaka guna widya., which means earnestly devoted themselves to virtue and science. This philosophy has been expressed in the symbol of Unud, paradigm of science od Unud, faculty and curriculum of excellent, and the university academic programs. The symbol of Unud is Widya Cakra Prawartana in the form of a chakra wheel. It carries the notion that science is dynamically spinning like a wheel or chakra and contented by the values of Pancasila, the Indonesian state philosophy.This thinking is very relevant to the concept of life-long learning because knowledge is consistently developed and marked by novelty. The paradigm of science of Unud is culture. The faculties of excellent are expressed in the development of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Tourism. The curriculum of excellent are expressed in all faculties or program’s curriculum relied upon any aspect of culture as the paradigm of science of Unud and tourism as the main products of the institutional context of Unud (Bali). The philosophy under this motto is communicated through the website, monuments, institutional formal letters, printed documents (academic manuals) or in academic activities on campus (new student orientation activities, academic coaching, and class / lecture activities).
